Long before Las Vegas began running commercials with the slogan “What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas,” professional baseball had a similar saying: “What goes on in the clubhouse, stays in the clubhouse. That is, of course, unless Lady Gaga shows up half-naked.
Only in America and only in the great state of New York can a pop princess waltz past security, swill whisky and fondle her chest as she makes her way through the clubhouse of one of the most traditional and historic franchises in sports history. But at least Gaga was representing––sort of. The singer was spotted wearing a half-buttoned Yankees jersey and…wait for it…a bikini bottom during Friday’s loss to the Mets at Yankee stadium. In order to not set off a media frenzy, the media, which is supposed to be allowed into the clubhouse 10 minutes after the final pitch, was held out.
Rumors have been flying as to the extent of miss Gaga’s behavior, as well as the repercussions for her actions. One of those rumors is an alleged life-time ban from Yankee Stadium, an allegation that GM Brian Cashman has since dispelled.
“She’s not banned,” said the GM. “Celebrities aren’t banned. If Michael Jordan showed up here he would have access [to the clubhouse], but not after a loss.”
Well that’s reassuring. Memo to the Cash man: your club is in first place in the AL East and you are the defending world champs––start acting like it. We all know that you play in the Big Apple, which is a hotbed for celebs, but you don’t need a media circus feeding off anything other than baseball. Never mind the fact that if Steinbrenner was still running the show you would be held accountable and there would be few vacancies on your security crew; this sort of incident is just bad for baseball and bad for the Yankees organization.
And memo to Gaga: try mixing in a pair of pants or at the very least, a skirt.

Yeah I agree. I am just wondering how long it will be before A-Rod and Gaga are dating…
