Okay, the Mets need to make a big splash. Heck they need to make at least two big splashes. Heck, the Mets’ arch rivals the Phils got better (at least somewhat) by adding Roy Halladay. The Mets’ cross-town rivals the Yankees (who I also like, yes I am a strange hybrid _- I know) are not only coming off a World Championship but they also just grabbed Curtis Granderson to patrol center field for them for the next few years. Therefore the Mets really need to make a splash so huge it’s create a tidal wave. Here’s what they do, throw money at Matt Holliday, lots of money. Sure it’s easy for me to say since, well, it’s not my cash; but I’m thinking 8 years at 18 million will be enough to get the job done. Sometimes I don’t think the Mets remember that are a big market team.
