Mets Cardinals Twins Royals White Sox Cliff Lee

Just some notes

The Mets beat the Cardinals 8 to 2 yesterday, proving the Mets play much better at home than on the road. The Mets got to Adam Wainwright for six runs, raising his ERA to 2.23. Obviously Johan Santana wasn’t pitching for the Mets since they scored so many runs. Jon Niese got the win for the Mets to go a very respectable 7-4 on the year with a 3.43 ERA. The Mets actually gained a game on the Braves pulling to 6.5 behind. It’s not quite over yet. Of course now the Phillies are red hot having won six in a row. Still if the Mets can pull off some sort of surprise deadline deal (I’m thinking more than say Ted Lilly) the Mets may be able to make some noise in the East. Of course I’m not holding my breath on that one.
