Sizzling Starts

The MLB season is still in the very early going for 2012, but there are a few teams that are off to a sizzling start.

The team burning the hottest right now is the Dodgers.  The team seems to be rejuvenated following the completion of the sale and is leading all MLB teams in the standings with a smoking hot 8-1 start to the season.  The Dodgers have won 5 games in a row and are a perfect 5-0 at home.  Matt Kemp is on fire and the entire Dodgers team seem to be radiating heat from all areas.

A close second are the teams of the Nationals and Rangers who both have 7-2 records to start the season.  The Nationals are quite surprising in this start and it remains to be seen if they can keep up this pace.  They have won 5 in a row and are a perfect 3-0 at home to start the season.  The Rangers on the other hand are not that surprising as they are one of the elite teams in the league right now.  Their bats continue to be hot and the pitching is starting to heat up as well.

Next up and most surprisingly perhaps are the NY Mets at 6-2.  Getting off to a very hot start against a sluggish Braves team and continuing to win against an absolutely lackluster Phillies team.  The Mets find themselves in second place to start the season behind the surprising Nationals but only half a game behind.  Again, it remains to be seen if they can continue this hot start and their next series starting Monday with the Braves may just tell the tale.

It’s still very, very early in the season, but these teams are really on a hot streak.  Wins and momentum are confidence builders and these teams may be able to use these hot starts to continue on the winning path.  Only time will tell, but for now these are some sizzling starts.
