Out of control…

The National’s Nyier Morgan is out of control. Already facing a seven day suspension from a previous incident in the sixth inning he charged the mound attacking Florida Marlins pitcher Chris Volstad. Creating a bench clearing brawl. It just wasn’t pretty. Baseball fights are the ugliest of all fights. Okay, I know Volstad hit Morgan earlier in the fourth. I also know Volstad did throw behind Morgan. Still, this doesn’t give Morgan the right to act like a crazy man. His act over the last couple of days has made Milton Bradley (the baseball player not the game maker) seem calm and serene. Who would have thunk it?

The 30 year old Morgan is an interesting dude, he has a lot of fire for a guy hitting .257 with an .317 OBP and 0 homeruns. He does have good speed with 33 stolen bases. He really needs to use some of that speed to think faster. Even if he had the right to retaliate he should have done it with his bat and legs and not his fists. This isn’t Morgan’s first temper explosion. He’s thrown a ball at a fan. He’s collided with Cardinals catcher Bryan Anderson when there was no play at the plate. He’s thrown his mitt onto the ground in a fit of rage after he thought he misplayed a ball into a homerun. The guy clearly needs meditation. Hopefully major league baseball will give him a couple of weeks off without out pay so he can get that meditation.

Oh the Marlins won the game 16-10.
