Finally, MLB has come to its senses and moved the World Series back to October, where it belongs. It was ridiculous that the season was going into November. Too much chance of cold and snow impacting games the farther you get into winter. Baseball is the game of summer with the fall classic – not winter madness.
This year game 7 of the World Series is on November 4 but next year it will be on October 28. It’s still late into October, but at least it’s not November anymore. The regular season will also start on a Friday next year, April 1. The regular season will end on September 28 next year. That’s more like it.
I was never a fan of the November World Series. It is just too late in the year. You have the NFL going, NBA going as well. You can also have some very cold and even snowy weather in some baseball venues. Cold and snow and baseball do not go together. Baseball is a game of sunshine and warm weather. The fall classic can have a little nip in the air to make it fall, but snow is just a little too much.
Good for MLB for making this move. October is where the fall classic belongs and I’m glad it’s going back there.
